Band Fees

Monthly Band Fee: $5 Due: 1st of Every Month Payment: Cash or Money Order Only. First $25 due by October 1st, $5 monthly thereafter until April 2010.

Morning Open Practice/Sectionals 7:45-8:05 am

Eligibility-Students must pass with a 70 or above in ALL classes to be eligible for any UIL or extracurricular event. Please make an effort to turn in your homework, study for tests, go to tutoring, and ask for help!

Community Service Every Friday 3:45-5:00

Students who choose to chew gum, not throw away trash, and exhibit inappropriate or irresponsible behaviors are responsible for informing parents of community service. Students missing community service may receive an administrative detention hall or additional days of community service.

Elective Class Schedule

Student Expectations

Students are expected to participate in class 100% of the time.

Students are expected to follow the classroom procedures at all times.

Students are expected to attend all after school sectionals, rehearsals, and performances for a grade.

Students are expected to take home their instrument to practice.

Students are expected to pass all their classes to remain eligible.

J. Frank Dobie Band Directors offer daily in and after school tutoring sessions. Students are expected to participate in both types of tutoring sessions for a grade. These sessions are designed to improve the student's playing ability and to expand their knowledge of music. Please check the schedule to the left for your instrument sectional day.

All students are encouraged to come in to practice before school at 7:45 or after school on their own using a practice room or other facility as available for their convenience, especially if it is difficult to take an instrument home to practice for specific reasons (i.e., hotel, unsafe environments).
